Zoe Galle is a queer, white, gender fluid femme, teacher & multimedia improvisational dance artist. Her research-driven work explores the relationship between the body, ritual, sexuality and the inner emotional landscape. She moves between pleasure and rigor, exploring embodiment and effort. She is motivated by collaboration, between people, materials, language, and text and is concerned largely with transference. She disrupts traditional roles of spectatorship in relation to her work. Zoë interrogates the stigmatization of sexuality by blurring the boundary between private and public and employs an aesthetic that is both sensual and grotesque. Her process emphasizes chance based methods of composition and score based work.
